An underwhelming introduction
Righto, I’ve ordered all the gear off Amazon, paid for this domain, and even set up an Instagram account… how painfully modern. I’m basically a fully-fledged creative entrepreneur now, minus the talent, the followers, or any real sense of direction.
If you thought working in B2B marketing (as I do) might be a natural segue into something like this, you’d be wrong. Unlike my work persona, I’ll be writing here as I intend to paint: with minimal structure, no clear objective, and a vague hope that it distracts me from doom-scrolling for at least an hour.
So far, this grand little venture has cost me about £50. A modest investment in what I can only assume will become a slow, public unraveling across multiple platforms. And thus begins my latest attempt at a hobby-cum-depression-buster: a blog to document my accidental art journey. (Spoiler: I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing, and even less intention of pretending otherwise.)
This blog, much like my artwork has no structure, no artistic merit, and certainly no deeper meaning. It’s just me, fumbling through something vaguely creative as a means of avoiding my responsibilities.
If you’ve come here looking for tutorials, thoughtful analysis on colour theory, or anything remotely useful… I’d recommend leaving now. But if you’re into messy attempts, low expectations, and watching a man with a questionable pen and pencil set stumble his way through a new hobby…then welcome. You’re in the right place.
